Shri Ganapati Namashtakam Stotram 

We are celebrating God Ganapati Janma (birth Day) on 26th January 2012 i.e. Magha (Name of the month) Shukla Chaturthi. We call this day as Ganesh Jayanti. I am uploading Ganapati Namashtak Stotram which is from Shri Brahma VaivartPurana, Ganapati khanda. This stotra is in Sanskrit. This stotra is told by God Vishnu to Goddess Parvati as she was angry with Parshuram (Incarnation of God Vishnu). This is a very pious and holy stotra. 1 O! Mother (Parvati) Ganesh, Ekdant, Heramb, VighnaNayak, Lambodar, Shoorpakarna, Gajavaktra, and Guhagraj are eight (Very Pious) names of your son. O! HarPriye (Wife of God Shiva) please listen the meaning of these eight names of your son. This stotra is main stotra among many and it removes all difficulties (from life of the devotees). 2 “Ga” indicates Knowledge. “Na” indicates mukti. I bow to the God of these two i.e. God Ganesh. “Ek” indicates head/leader. “Dant” indicates power/energy. I bow to Ekdant who is most powerful. 3 “He” indicates poor/weak. “Ramb” indicates care taker. I bow to God Heramb who is care taker of weak and poor people. 4 “Vighna” indicates difficulties. “Nayak” indicates the one who removes difficulties. I bow to VighnaNayak who removes difficulties. 5 God Vishnu had given him Naiyedya and God Shiva (father) given him many sweets to eat hence his belly have become very long. As such he is being called as Lambodar. I bow to God Lambodar. 6 His ears are long and like Shoorpa (shifting Pan) for removing difficulties and indication of knowledge and wealth as a blessing to the devotees. I bow to Shoorpkarna. 7 There are flowers on his head given to him by Rushies. These flowers were given to Rushies by God Vishnu as blessings. He is having a head of Gajendra. I bow to Gajavaktra. 8 He has come in God Shiva family before Guha (Skanda). He is being worshiped first, before worshiping other Gods. I bow to Guhagraj. O Durge! This holy and pious Namashtak Stotra of your son is described in Vedas also. Think over it and then take a suitable decision. The devotee becomes happy and victorious; who recites this stotra thrice a day every day. All his difficulties and troubles are removed just like serpents run away from the eagle. He becomes very knowledgeable by the blessings of God Ganesh. Desirous of a son receives son and desirous of good wife receives a beautiful, wise and good wife. A devotee who is dull becomes knowledgeable and a famous poet.

विष्णुरुवाच 

गणेशमेकदन्तं च हेरम्बं विघ्ननायकम् I 

लम्बोदरं शूर्पकर्णं गजवक्त्रं गुहाग्रजम् I 

नामाष्टार्थ च पुत्रस्य श्रुणु मातर्हरप्रिये I 

स्तोत्राणां सारभूतं च सर्वविघ्नहरं परम् II १ II 

ज्ञानार्थवाचको गश्च णश्च निर्वाणवाचकः I 

तयोरीशं परं ब्रह्म गणेशं प्रणमाम्यहम् I 

एकशब्दः प्रधानार्थो दन्तश्च बलवाचकः I 

बलं प्रधानं सर्वस्मादेकदन्तं नमाम्यहम् II २ II 

दिनार्थवाचको हेश्च रम्बः पालकवाचकः I 

परिपालकं दिनानां हेरम्बं प्रणमाम्यहम् I 

विपत्तिवाचको विघ्नो नायकः खण्डनार्थकः I 

विपत्खण्डनकारकं नमामि विघ्ननायकम् II ३ II 

विष्णुदत्तैश्च नैवेद्यैर्यस्य लम्बोदरं पुरा I 

पित्रा दतैश्च विविधैर्वन्दे लम्बोदरं च तम् I 

शूर्पाकारौ च यत्कर्णौ विघ्नवारणकारणौ I 

सम्पद्दौ ज्ञानरुपौ च शूर्पकर्णं नमाम्यहम् II ४ II 

विष्णुप्रसादपुष्पं च यन्मूर्ध्नि मुनिदत्तकम् I 

तद् गजेन्द्रवक्त्रयुतं गजवक्त्रं नमाम्यहम् I 

गुहस्याग्रे च जातोSयमाविर्भूतो हरालये I 

वन्दे गुहाग्रजं देवं सर्वदेवाग्रपूजितम् II ५ II 

एतन्नामाष्टकं दुर्गे नामभिः संयुतं परम् I 

पुत्रस्य पश्य वेदे च तदा कोपं तथा कुरु I 

एतन्नामाष्टकं स्तोत्रं नानार्थसंयुतं शुभम् I 

त्रिसंध्यं यः पठेन्नित्यं स सुखी सर्वतो जयी II ६ II 

ततो विघ्नाः पलायन्ते वैनतेयाद् यथोरगाः I 

गणेश्वरप्रसादेन महाज्ञानी भवेद् ध्रुवम् I 

पुत्रार्थी लभते पुत्रं भार्यार्थी विपुलां स्त्रियम् I 

महाजडः कवीन्द्रश्च विद्दावांश्च भवेद् ध्रुवम् II ७ II

श्रीगणपती नामाष्टक स्तोत्रम्

मराठी अर्थ 

भगवान श्रीविष्णू हे गणपती नामाष्टक स्तोत्र पार्वतीला सांगत आहेत. माते ! तुझ्या मुलाची गणेश, एकदंत, हेरंब, विघ्ननायक, लंबोदर, शूर्पकर्ण, गजवक्त्र आणि गुहाग्रज अशी आठ नांवे आहेत. या आठही नांवांचा अर्थ ऐक. हे शिवप्रिये ! हे उत्तम, पवित्र स्तोत्र सर्व स्तोत्रांचे सारभूत आणि सर्व विघ्नांचे निवारण करणारे आहे. 'ग' ज्ञानार्थवाचक आणि 'ण' निर्वाणवाचक आहे. या दोन्ही (ग + ण) चे जे ईश्वर आहेत, त्या परब्रह्म गणेशाला मी नमस्कार करतो. 'एक' शब्द प्रधानार्थक आहे आणि 'दन्त' बलवाचक आहे. ज्यांचे बल सर्वांहून अधिक आहे, त्या 'एकदन्ताला' मी नमस्कार करतो. 'हे' दीनार्थवाचक आणि 'रम्ब' पालक (पालनकर्ता) याचे वाचक आहे. म्हणून दीनांचे पालक 'हेरम्ब' यांच्या समोर मी नत मस्तक होतो. "विघ्न" विपत्तिवाचक आणि "नायक" खण्डनार्थक आहे. अशा प्रकारे जे विघ्नांचे विनाशक आहेत, त्या "विघ्ननायकाला" मी अभिवादन करतो. पूर्वींच्या काळी विष्णूने दिलेला नैवेद्य आणि पित्याकडून दिलेले नाना प्रकारचे मिष्टांन खाल्यामुळे ज्याचे पोट मोठे झाले आहे अशा "लंबोदराला" मी वंदन करतो. ज्यांचे कर्ण भक्तांची विघ्न निवारण्यासाठी, त्यांना संपदा आणि ज्ञान देण्यासाठी सुपासारखे आहेत, त्या "शूर्पकर्णापुढे " मी नतमस्तक होतो. ज्यांच्या डोक्यावर मुनींनी दिलेले विष्णूंचे प्रसादरूपी पुष्प आहे आणि जो गजेन्द्राच्या मुखाने युक्त आहे, त्या "गजवक्त्राला" मी नमस्कार करतो. जो "गुह" म्हणजे स्कन्द यांच्या आधी जन्म घेऊन शिवाच्या घरी अवतीर्ण झाले आणि सर्व देवांच्या आधी अग्रपूजेचा मान असणार्या "गुहाग्रजाला" मी वंदन करतो. दुर्गे ! आपल्या पुत्राच्या उत्तम नामाष्टक स्तोत्राचे वेदांतील महत्व आधी जाणून घे आणि मग क्रोध आवर किंवा योग्य निर्णय घे. हे स्तोत्र जे नाना अर्थांनी भरलेले आहे आणि शुभकारक आहे, त्याचा पाठ जोकोणी रोज त्रिकाळ करतो, तो सुखी आणि सर्वत्र विजयी होतो. गरुडापासून साप जसे लांब पळतात तशीच संकटे त्याच्यापासून लांब पळतात. गणेश्वराच्या कृपेने तो निश्चितच महान ज्ञानी होतो. पुत्राची इच्छा करणारास पुत्र आणि पत्नीची इच्छा करणारास उत्तम सुशील स्त्री लाभते. तसेच महामूर्ख असला तरी निश्चितच तो विद्वान आणि श्रेष्ठ कवी होतो. अशा रीतीने श्रीविष्णूंनी पार्वतीला सांगितलेले हे ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराणाच्या गणपतीखंडांतील गणपती नामाष्टक पूर्ण झाले.

It is not known who has written it, It appeared in ”Kalyan magazine Sankirtanak” Today i.e.1st Sep 2011 being Ganesh Chaturthi, I am uploading this for all devotees specially for God Ganapati Devotees. I am asking for his blessings for all of us. 1 O ! God Ganapati, you are leader of all ganas (soldiers of God). I bow to you Gana-Nath (God Ganapati). You live in Swanand loka (Kingdom of happiness). You are owner or husband of Sidhi and Budhi (Ridhi). Shesha Nag (the big famous Serpent) resides in your Nabhi. Dhundhiraj (God Ganapati) I bow to you. You are always found having Varad and Abhaya mudras in your hand. It means that you are always giving blessing and fearlessness to the devotees. You are holding Parshu as a weapon in your hand. So also there is ankush in your hand which beautifies you. Shesha Nag (the big famous Serpent) resides in your Nabhi. I bow to you. You are without any disease and you make your devotees also like you and bless them with good health. You are being worshiped by all and you are also Sarvaswaroop. You are found in Sagun (God with form) and Nirgun (God without form) roopa. You are giver of Brahma dnyana. I bow to you Gajanan (God Ganapati). You are always worshiped and then other gods are worshiped. So you are the first to whom we worship. You are elder and eldest. I bow to you God Ganapati. O! Heramb (God Ganapati) mothers and fathers of all worship you first. You are present from very very ancient times. You are creator of difficulties and you are also destroyer of difficulties. I bow to you. You are lambodar (God Ganapati) and you remove difficulties from our life hence I bow to you. Yogis achieved peace in their life because of your devotion. You have blessed them to be in peace. Hence O! God Ganapati we also request you to bless us with peace and happiness in our life. Here completes this Ganapati Stotra.

श्री गणपती स्तोत्र मराठी अर्थ:

भक्तांना सुख देणाऱ्या हे देवेश्वरा, आपण भक्तीप्रिय आणि गणांचे अधिपती आहात. हे गणनाथ मी आपल्याला नमस्कार करतो. आपण स्वानंद लोकाचे वासी आहात आणि आपण सिद्धीबुद्धीचे प्राणनाथ आहात. आपल्या नाभिमध्ये शेषनाग भूषण रूपाने विराजमान आहेत. हे ढुण्ढिराजा देवा आपल्याला मी नमस्कार करतो. आपल्या हातामध्ये वरद आणि अभय मुद्रा आहेत. आपण परशु धारण करणारे आहात. आपल्या हातामध्ये अंकुश शोभत आहे. आपल्या नाभिमध्ये नागराज विराजमान आहेत. आपल्याला मी नमस्कार करतो. आपण रोगरहित, सर्वस्वरूप आणि सर्वाना पूजनीय आहात. मी आपल्याला नमस्कार करतो. आपणच सगुण व निर्गुण ब्रह्म आहात. मी आपल्याला नमस्कार करतो. आपण ब्राह्मणांना ब्रह्मज्ञान देणारे आहात. हे गजानना मी आपल्याला नमस्कार करतो. आपण प्रथम पूजनीय, ज्येष्ठ आणि जेष्ठराज आहात. आपल्याला मी नमस्कार करतो. सर्वांचे माता-पिता असलेल्या हे हेरंबा मी आपल्याला वारंवार नमस्कार करतो. हे विघ्नेश्वर, आपण अनादी आहात आणि विघ्नांचे निर्माते आहात. आपल्याला मी वारंवार नमस्कार करतो. हे लंबोदर! आपण भक्तांच्या विघ्नांचे हरण करणारे आहात. आपल्याला मी नमस्कार करतो. योगीश्वर आपली भक्ती करून शांती मिळवितात. म्हणून आपण आम्हाला सुखशांती द्यावी. इथे हे गणपती स्तोत्र संपूर्ण झाले.
