ShriJivatichi Aarati 

ShriJivatichi Aarati is in Marathi. This Aarati is sung by the ladies in the month of Shravan Month on every Friday. Ladies are asking the Jivati Devi to protect their children. They are asking Jivati Devi to make their children trouble free from Satavi and make the children happy. The ladies who perform this Aarati are asking Jivati Devi to fulfil their desires, let there be happiness in their family always. The ladies describe how they worship Jivati Devi. On the very first day of Shravan month, every year; they bring the photo of Jivati Devi and keep it at their worship place. Then they perform pooja of Jivati Devi on every Friday in the month of Shravan. Garlands of Aaghada, Durva and flowers are offered and placed on the photo. Story of Jivati Devi’s blessings are read. Ladies from nearby places are called for lunch and offered Lunch, Chane, Halad-KumKum and milk is served to them. Puranpoli as a sweet dish is prepared for prasadam and for lunch. Thus the ladies are honoured as Jivati Devi and lunch is offered them by host lady. Finally the ladies are asking Jivati Devi to make their children trouble free from Satavi and make the children happy.

श्रावण येतांचि आणूं प्रतिमा । 

गृहांत स्थापूनि करुं पूजना । 

आघाडा दूर्वा माळा वाहूं या । 

अक्षता घेऊनि कहाणी सांगू या ॥ १ ॥ 

जयदेवी जयदेवी जय जिवती जननी । 

सुखी ठेवी संतति विनंति तव चरणी ॥ धृ. ॥ 

पुरणपोळीचा नैवेद्द दावू । 

सुवासिनींना भोजन देऊ । 

चणे हळददीकुंकू दूधही देऊं । 

जमुनि आनंदे आरती गाऊं ॥ २ ॥

सुखी ठेवी संतति विनंति तव चरणी ॥ धृ. ॥ 

सटवीची बाधा होई बाळांना । 

सोडवी तींतून तूंचि तयांना मातां । 

यासाठी तुजला करिती प्रार्थना ।

Shravani Shukravar श्रावणी शुक्रवार

Shravani Shukravar 

On every Friday in the month of Shravan ladies pray Jivati Devi for the protection of their children. Hence Shravani Shukravar is very special day for ladies. Here I am trying to describe the method how such Shukravar in Shravan month is observed. The frame/Photo of Jivati Devi is hanged on the wall in the pooja room/place in the house on the very first day of the Shravan Month, even if it is not a Friday. Pooja of Jivati Devi is performed only on all Shukravars (Fridays) of the month. Such pooja is performed with Halad-Kumkum, Gandha, Flowers, Durvas, Aaghada, Dhoop, Deep etc. A garland of Aaghada, durva and flowers is prepared and placed on the Photo of Jivati Devi. Naivedda of Purna (made up of goor and chana dal) is offered on every Friday. In the evening some ladies are called for Prasadam and are offered milk, Chna-Futana and Halad-Kumkum. On one such Friday Chapati of Purna is prepared among other eatables and offered as Naivedda. A savashna (lady having child) lady is called for lunch and she is honoured with Coconut-Oti-Dakshana. Her plate is decorated placing rangoli outside the plate. Pooja of God and Jivati is performed. Aarati of Jivati with 5-7 or 9 lamps of Purna is sung by the host lady. Naivedda is offered to God and Jivati. Host bow to God, Jivati and savashna lady. In the evening host lady visits nereby Goddess temple and offered some Shidha in the temple. Oukashan of the children is performed by asking them to sit on wooden seat, in front of Jivati Devi Photo. Jivati Devi is considered as protector of children. Even if the children are out of station, then Oukashan is done on all four sides and Akashata are placed and thrown on all four sides. The frame/Photo of Jivati Devi is to be kept as it is till the end of Gouri-Ganapati festival; on that day we have to place Halad-Kumkum, Akshata on the Photo of Jivati Devi and then it can be removed. श्रावणी शुक्रवार 

जिवतीचा कागद, फोटो श्रावण महिन्यांतील जो दिवस पहिला येतो त्याच दिवशी लावतात. पूजा प्रत्येक शुक्रवारी करतात. जिवतीला आघाडा, दूर्वा, फुले यांची माळ घालतात. श्रावण महिन्यांतील प्रत्येक शुक्रवारी बायकांना हळदी-कुंकू देऊन दूध, साखर व चणे-फुटाणे देतात. एक मुठभर पुरण घालतात. एका शुक्रवारी पुरणपोळी करुन सवाष्णीस जेवावयास बोलावतात. तीच्या पानाभोवती रांगोळी घालून, पानापुढे विडा-दक्षिणा ठेवतात. देवाची व जिवतीची हळद-कुंकू, फुले, आघाडा, दुर्वा, गंध वाहून पूजा करतात. रांगोळी काढून आणि पुरणपोळी वाढून ताटाचा नैवेद्द दाखवतात; पुरणाचे ५-७-९ असे दिवे करुन जिवतीची आरती करतात. सवाष्णीचे जेवण झाल्यावर तीची खणा-नारळाने ओटी भरतात. तीला नमस्कार करतात. औक्षणः जिवतीची पूजा झाल्यावर तीला औक्षण करुन, आरतीनंतर घरांतील लहान मुलांना पाटावर बसवून त्यांनापण औक्षण करतात. मुले परगावी असल्यास चारी दिशांना औक्षण करुन चारी दिशांना अक्षता टाकाव्यात. औक्षणाच्या दीपाची वात फुलवात असु नये, समईला असते तशी वात करावी. देवीच्या देवळांत दर्शन घेऊन शिधा अर्पण करावा. गौरी-गणपती विसर्जनानंतर हळद-कुंकू वाहून, अक्षता वाहून जिवतीचा कागद काढावा. जिवतीदेवी ही मुलांची रक्षण करणारी असते. म्हणून ज्यांना मुले नाहीत अशा सवाष्णींसाठी पुत्रप्राप्तीकर महालक्ष्मी स्तोत्र यासोबत सादर आहे. 

पराशरमुनिकृत पुत्रप्राप्तिकर महालक्ष्मी स्तोत्रम् 

अनाद्दन्तरुपां त्वां जननी देहिनाम् । 

 श्रीविष्णुरुपिणीं वदें महालक्ष्मी परमेश्र्वरीम् ॥ १ ॥

नामजात्यादिरुपेण स्थितां त्वां परमेश्र्वरीम् । 

श्रीविष्णुरुपिणीं वदें महालक्ष्मी परमेश्र्वरीम् ॥ २ ॥ 

व्यक्ताव्यक्त स्वरुपेण कुत्रनं व्याप्या व्यवस्थिताम् । 

श्रीविष्णुरुपिणीं वदें महालक्ष्मी परमेश्र्वरीम् ॥ ३ ॥ 

भक्तानंदश्रद्धा पूर्णापूर्ण काम करी पराम् । 

श्रीविष्णुरुपिणीं वदें महालक्ष्मी परमेश्र्वरीम् ॥ ४ ॥ 

अंतर्याम्यात्मना विश्र्वमापूर्य ह्रदिसंस्थिताम् । 

श्रीविष्णुरुपिणीं वदें महालक्ष्मी परमेश्र्वरीम् ॥ ५ ॥ 

सर्वदैत्य विनाशार्थ लक्ष्मीरुपां व्यवस्थिताम् । 

श्रीविष्णुरुपिणीं वदें महालक्ष्मी परमेश्र्वरीम् ॥ ६ ॥ 

भुक्तिमुक्तिंच दातु संस्थिता करवीरके । 

श्रीविष्णुरुपिणीं वदें महालक्ष्मी परमेश्र्वरीम् ॥ ७ ॥ 

सर्वभयप्रदां देवी सर्वसंशय नाशिनीम् । 

श्रीविष्णुरुपिणीं वदें महालक्ष्मी परमेश्र्वरीम् ॥ ८ ॥ 

॥ इति श्रीकरवीरमहात्म्ये पाराशरकृतं पुत्रप्राप्तिकरं महालक्ष्मीस्तोत्रं संपूर्णम् ॥ 

मराठी अर्थः
१) अनादी आणि अंनतरुपी हे देवी, तू देहधारण करणार्‍याची माता आहेस. विष्णुरुपी असलेल्या हे महालक्ष्मी तुला माझा नमस्कार.
२) नाम आणि जाती आदिरुपाने हे परमेश्र्वरी तू स्थित आहेस. विष्णुरुपी असलेल्या हे महालक्ष्मी तुला माझा नमस्कार.
३) व्यक्त आणि अव्यक्त स्वरुपांत तू सर्व व्यापून आहेस. विष्णुरुपी असलेल्या हे महालक्ष्मी तुला माझा नमस्कार.
४) भक्तांच्या श्रद्धेप्रमाणे त्यांना आनंदी करून त्यांचे मनोरथही पूर्ण करतेस. विष्णुरुपी असलेल्या हे महालक्ष्मी तुला माझा नमस्कार.
५) विश्र्व व्यापून आमच्या अंर्तयामी, ह्रदयांत तू स्थित झाली आहेस.

८) सर्व भयाचा आणि सर्व संशयाचा नाश हे देवी तू करतेस. विष्णुरुपी असलेल्या हे महालक्ष्मी तुला माझा नमस्कार.
अशा प्रकारे श्रीकरवीर महात्म्यामधे असलेले हे पराशराने रचिलेले पुत्रप्राप्ती करून देणारे हे महालक्ष्मी स्तोत्र पुरे झाले.
