Shri Navanath Bhaktisar Adhyay 2
Shri Navanath Bhaktisar Adhyay 2 is in Marathi. I am trying to describe in short for the benefit of the devotees who don't know Marathi. God Shiva and God Dattatreya were walking in the forest of Bhagirathi, saw Machchhindra performing rigorous tapas. Machchhindra's body was completed dried. His legs and hands were become like a dried branch of a tree. Skin was fixed to the bones. Eyes were dried and became like camphor. There was a sound of chanting the mantra was the only sign of life remaining in the Machchhindra's body. Both gods were surprised knowing that in Kaliyuga Machchhindra was doing these hard rigorous tapas. God Datta approached Machchhindra and asked him why he was performing hard tapas. Then he blessed Machchhindra with mantra-diksha. Machchhindra received the super most knowledge. Everywhere he experienced oneness. God datta took him to God Shiva who realized that God Kavi Narayan had taken a birth as Machchhindra. Then God Shiva asked Datta to impart all the necessary knowledge to Machchhindra so that he can establish Nath-Sampradaya in this Kaliyuga. After getting all the knowledge from Guru Dattatreya, Machchhindra proceeded for TirthYatra. He also got blessings from Goddess Amba and all other gods so that they would be helpful to him for writing Shabari Vidya in Kavitva (poetry form). On his way to tirthyatra, he came to village Chandragiri in Bengal. He went to a goud Brahmin Sarvopdayal's house for bhiksha. Saraswati wife of the Brahmin served him bhiksha. She told him that they were unhappy since they don't have a child. Machchhindra took out vibhuti from his bag and chanted a God Surya mantra and asked god to enter into the vibhuti. Then he gave the vibhuti to Saraswati and asked to eat it in the night. He further told her that she would have a very brilliant childlike God Surya. Machchhindra also told her that he would came back after 12 years to give Mantra-Diksha to the child. Then he went away. Saraswati shared the fact with other ladies. They advised her not to believe in such things. Hence Saraswati had thrown the mantra vibhuti in the shade where cows used to live. This is a very short story of this Adhyay 2.
