Vishnupadishtam GaneshNamashtakam Stotram is in Sanskrit. God Vishnu is telling the meaning and importance of eight names of God Ganesh. Ganesh, Ekadant, Heramb, VighnaNayak, Lambodar, Shoorpakarna, Gajavakra and Guhagraja are these eight names. Ganesh—Ga means Intelligence, Na means Mukti, God of Intelligence and Mukti is called as Ganesh. Ek word means Main/leader and Dant means Power; hence he is called as Ekdant, whose is most powerful. He is for unable/poor people; Ramb means protector; He is called as Heramb.(protector of unable/poor people). Vighna means difficulties/troubles and Nayak means remover; Hence God who removes difficulties/troubles is called as VighnaNayak. God Vishnu and God Shiva had given different type of prasadam to eat and hence he has a big stomach; hence called as Lambodar. His ears are big for removing troubles of devotees, and indicator of blessing devotees with money/property and Knowledge; hence he is called as Shoorpakarna. He has a trunk like elephant. Hence he is called as Gajavakra. He came earlier to his younger brother Guha (Kartikeya) hence he is called as Guhagraja. These are the eight pious names of God Ganesh. Devotee is blessed by God Gnesh with wealth, health, happiness, victory everywhere, son, good wife, knowledge and anything he wish by chanting this stotra daily with faith, devotion and concentration.
